Angelica, Eliza and Peggy – our Aylesbury ducks

Hello everyone, We now have 3 Aylesbury ducks called Angelica, Eliza and Peggy after characters from my favourite musical, Hamilton. Aylesbury ducks are your typical Jemima Puddle-Duck kind of duck. So, if anyone wants to come up and see them and the chickens, feel free! The ducks won’t start laying their eggs until next Spring and we hope we will get 1 egg a day from each! The eggs taste great and are particularly good for baking and will be available to purchase for Tub guests!

The leaves have started to fall in Litton, and the colours look amazing! Great for photography!  We are also getting ready for Halloween and the Trick or Treat around the village, plus the glowing pumpkins outside many of the houses.  Tideswell is host to a fantastic bonfire and firework display on Sunday 5 November and some houses have their own celebrations too.  Tub Cottage guests have plenty to join in with during the Autumn months and we are so pleased that we are fully booked once again during October and November.  Warm, cosy evenings in the cottage after an evening meal at the Red Lion – what could be better!

Christmas is also just around the corner and Litton will shortly be preparing for putting up the lovely Christmas lights and Christmas Tree.  We will be welcoming guests to Tub Cottage during the weeks running up to Christmas as well as over Christmas and the New Year and also into January.  They will be enjoying some cosy evenings at the cottage and maybe a sprinkling of snow and bright frosty mornings.  Fingers crossed!
